19 Inspirational Quotes from Children's Books & Films

I'm a big fan of fairytales and children's stories, and not only for the magical characters and colourful illustrations. Children's books and films are filled with some pretty wise and inspirational quotes about life and love (probably more so than most adult books and films!)

It was pretty hard to narrow this down as there are so many wonderful quotes out there (so this might need a 'part two') but here's a few highlights from my findings.

“My philosophy is that worrying means you suffer twice” - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, J. K. Rowling

“Promise me you’ll remember: you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think” - Winnie the Pooh, A. A. Milne

“In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun and ‘snap’ the job’s a game” - Mary Poppins

“Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgement that something is more important that fear. The brave may not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all.” - The Princess Diaries, Meg Cabot

“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities” – Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets, J. K. Rowling

“Watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who do not believe in magic will never find it.” The Minpins, Roald Dahl

“Our fate lies within us. You only have to be brave enough to see it.” - Brave

“Not everyone can become a great artist, but great artists can come from anywhere” - Ratatouille

“The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all” - Mulan

“Forever is a long time, and time has a way of changing things” The Fox & the Hound

“The very things that hold you down are going to lift you up” - Dumbo

“Life’s not a spectator sport. If watchin’ is all you’re gonna do, then you’re gonna watch your life go by without ya” - Hunchback of Notre Dame

“You’re never too old to be young” - Snow White

“We all can dance,” he said, “if we find the music that we love.” – Giraffes Can’t Dance, Giles Andreae

“Believing takes practice.”– A Wrinkle in Time, Madeleine L’Engle

“And so for a time it looked as if all the adventures were coming to an end; but that was not to be.” – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, C.S. Lewis
